Where do you carry your tension? Have you thought about it? Do you know? I carry mine in my shoulders and neck. I found this out when I started to notice every time I was really stressed out my neck would tighten up and my shoulders would pinch a little! It got so bad I was going to get massages on a weekly basis! That was getting expensive. My stress wasn't really going away and now I'm even more stressed about all of the money I was spending on massages (I was single at the time...no honey to massage me! haha).
When was the last time you did something you truly loved and enjoyed? When was the last time you took some time to focus on yourself and encourage yourself to be creative, to be expressive, and to have fun??
Do you ever find yourself feeling overwhelmed with everything that is circling around you? Like the thoughts wont stop and you find yourself second guessing everything? Are you like me who overthinks mostly everything?? I think about my situation and how it affects me, how it affects those around me, I think about what possible outcomes could come from one single decision and before I know it...I'm stuck and stressed.
Fun fact...you meditate every second of everyday! You are a meditation pro...unfortunately we spend hours upon hours meditating on the wrong thing. We focus on the hardships, on the stresses, on the heartbreak and we manifest those things right into our day to day. We are powerhouses for such behavior.
What happens to a frog's car when it breaks down? It gets toad away. (insert laughter here). Ha Ha Ha! If you haven't figured it out yet...challenge number 2 is Laughter! If you are like me or like a lot of people I know, you might have just rolled your eyes when you read that line. But stick with me here, there's something to this laughter thing. â
Let's start this challenge off by putting something on our list we can do everyday without much effort...spending time outdoors. Sound too good to be true right? Well it's not! Just 20 minutes outside can not only help with boosting your energy and immune system, but it can also help with mediating pain and help with focus and creativity! â
With Thanksgiving behind us, gladiator style bargain shopping from Back Friday a faint memory, Christmas and New Years fast approaching...let's take this year to try something new when it comes to stress management! Yes, I'm talking to you...put down the wine and eggnog and lets push these holiday worries and stressors aside and focus on ways this year to be gentler to ourselves! Let's be more loving and self-aware, lets limit and minimize stress where we can. The holidays can bring on a new onset of stress, anxiety, and depression we are not accustomed to dealing with on a daily basis. I mean, we can only be asked so many times about our limited love life and our current financial state before we completely lose our minds!
