![]() Wearable tech is all the rage and people are really getting into it. These days, there’s a lot of great technology out there that you can wear. If we took a look at all of it, we’d be here all day! Instead, let’s sneak a peek at some of the smartest and most ingenious wearable ideas out there Fitness Watches![]() Fitness bands and watches were probably the pioneers of this wearable tech movement. They served as an easy way to track how far you’d ran, how many calories you’d burn, etc. Nowadays, they’re evolving into even more powerful gadgets. They can track more things than ever before, and also look a lot better too. Before, it was fairly obvious if someone was wearing a fitness band, as they stood out on your wrist. Now, there are fitness watches that look identical to actual classic watches. This improved style is so important for wearable tech, as no one wants to wear something that stands out and looks ugly on their wrists. Diving ComputersIf you’ve ever been deep sea diving, then you’ll know what a diving computer is. If not, then the easiest way to explain what it looks like is by saying it’s a diving watch. There are loads of different types, ranging from a hoseless dive computer to one with additional cables and hoses attached. What makes this wearable tech so smart is that it can tell you how far down you can safely go. It tracks air pressure, water levels, the amount of oxygen in your breathing tank. It makes a whole host of calculations all to tell you when you’ve reached as deep as you can go, and it’s not safe to continue. Now, all of this sounds impressive enough as it is, but then you factor in the underwater element! It does all of this while being hundreds of meters below sea level - how incredible! Plus, when you emerge, you’ve got something on your wrist that resembles a cool watch. It embodies both elements of wearable tech; performance and style. Headphone Hoodies![]() While the other two things on this list are types of smartwatch, it’s important to note that not all wearable tech is for your wrist. Perhaps the cleverest piece of wearable tech out there is a headphone hoodie. This is a hoodie that’s got built-in washable headphones for wearers to use. They sit where the drawstrings on a hoodie would usually be found, and are incredibly useful. They mean the days of having tangled up headphones are long gone. As are the days of worrying about leaving your headphones in your jeans and washing them by mistake. This is an example of some truly intelligent wearable technology that sets the stall for the following year. It looks like the trend is going to move towards implementing technology into regular clothing, rather than creating separate wearable objects. It’s fun to look at the great wearable tech ideas out there, as well as some of the ones in the pipeline. 2017 is certainly looking like a year where the wearable industry experiences a significant boom.
