Despite security breaches and other questions of privacy, Snapchat remains a wildly popular app.
In late 2012, Facebook launched a stand alone app called Poke, hoping it would become a Snapchat killer.
Did anyone ever even use the Poke app (screenshot below)?
I downloaded it, but since none of my friends were on it, I deleted it.

Facebook quietly got rid of the app and apparently went back to the drawing board. Enter Slingshot!
