Unless you've been living under a rock, you now know that Apple has released three new devices, the 8, the 8 plus, and the iPhone X.
The X is Apple'high end model that has loads of great features, the main one being the facial recognition feature that replaces the fingerprint ID on the iPhone X. The reception of the two versions of the iPhone 8 has been pretty poor, so it seems that people are waiting for the iPhone X to come out, but is that really sensible.
It costs $100 more than the 8 Plus, but is it really worth it?
iPhones have had fingerprint ID since the iPhone 5 came out. It works well and it’s changed the way that we access our phone and pay for things using Apple Pay. It makes things a lot easier but it’s only so convenient as long as it works. If you replace the fingerprint technology with the facial recognition, it might not work very well. Apple insists that it will be able to deal with any changes in your appearance but they would say that, wouldn’t they? It might not be very good and without the fingerprint tech as a fallback, you won’t have any of those convenient features on your phone anymore. You’re better off getting the 8 or the 8 plus and sticking with the fingerprint scanner. Let everybody else iron out all of the problems and then get on board with the facial recognition next time around when it works properly. To be honest, if you’re just looking to use the basic payment functions, you can make do with a much older model. Anything beyond an iPhone 5 will be fine, you can save a lot of money by getting a second hand model and unlocking it. This is the best iphone 5c unlocked guide which gives you a quick tutorial on how to unlock any model of iPhone 5. You can pick one up for around $100 so if you aren’t bothered about having the latest one, it’s a great way of saving money.
There seems to be a bit of a trend with Apple products that there are always added extras for some of the best features. You’ll have to buy a load of accessories if you want to charge wirelessly, even if you shell out the extra for the iPhone X.
Overall, the facial recognition is the only extra feature that you get with the iPhone X, and it isn’t going to be worth paying an extra $100 if it doesn’t work properly.
