1) Connect the Dots
2. Have Follower Goals
Social media is all about making contact with people and interacting with people you don’t know. But not many people actually do this very well. Don’t simply send out lots of tweets and posts that don’t start a debate. You should read all the replies from people and respond to people as often as possible.
This is something you see me do a lot on Facebook, Twitter, and especially Instagram.
3. Be Consistent
Being consistent on social media means a lot of different things. Firstly, you need to make sure that you use the same or similar usernames and bios on all of your difference social media profiles. This will help people to realise that you’re the same person that they follow on Twitter when they’re looking at your Facebook profile.
It also means keeping your profiles up to date and in use at all times. It’s never a very good idea to leave your profiles dormant for long stretches of time. This will suggest to people that you’re not really interested in interacting with followers.
5. Have a Laugh
Nobody likes to follow people on social media who are boring and dull. So, if you want to gain more follower, you need to show people that you’re fun and know how to crack a joke.
This is what social media is all about. It’s not easy for everyone to do this, but it is possible if you put in the effort!
One great way you can have a laugh on social media is to create memes. These are really good because they’re so shareable. If you create a great meme that resonates with the people who follow you, it will spread throughout social media, and you can gain followers. You can use a Social Meme Generator to help you with this.
6. Become a expert on a subject
If you know what you’re talking about on a certain subject, people will be more likely to listen to you on social media. You have to be able to carve out a niche for yourself if you want people to see you as an authority on a certain subject.
If you’re a blogger who posts articles on specific subjects each week, you should transfer this information across to your social media profiles. Start talking about what you know. You’ll be surprised at how many people will want to follow you as a result of that!
7) Don’t Neglect LinkedIn
If you don’t use LinkedIn, you definitely should. It’s a lot more useful that you might realize.
When you set up a LinkedIn profile, you need to make sure you set the profile up correctly so that it’s 100% complete.
You can then join groups on LinkedIn that might help you to network and make contacts with more people.
That can only be a good thing for you and for your overall social media presence.
