Our friends at Startup Grind Hollywood asked us to pass along this amazing opportunity from the folks at Google for Entrepreneurs Exchange.
Google for Entrepreneurs Exchange: Black Founders is a week-long immersion program focused on addressing the funding gap for startups led by Black founders.
Read on for more program information and how to submit.
You have to be fast because the deadline is August 8th!
Established in 2016, this program displays how American Underground and Google for Entrepreneurs strive to move the needle on diversity by addressing the key components to building a successful business: mentorship, training, and access to capital.
The #GFEExchange offers selected participants a chance to engage in conversation and provide useful tools around the unique challenges that face Black founders. Founders will also get prepared for an angel/seed stage round raise.
Each team is paired with a mentor from the North Carolina high-tech corridor (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) to receive one on one time with our business and innovation experts. Mentors from Google will also join the program to provide support and product expertise.
We provide skilled tech and business experts to prepare companies for angel / seed funding (less than $750K) and to share knowledge unique to challenges Black founders face.
Access to Capital
The week culminates in a Demo Day that coincides with Durham’s annual celebration of Black Wall Street Homecoming. The event will welcome venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and others in the entrepreneurial community to Durham. Each year, over half of our participants receive capital on demo day and every participant recommends the program to fellow founder. Of last year’s participants, five companies received on the spot convertible notes, and four raised seed rounds. Check out the photo below to see some of the #GFEExchange alumni companies.
