This week I had the pleasure of attending Tech In Motion LA's most popular event: "Made in LA" Demos & Drinks featuring five LA-based tech companies and start-ups demoing their inspired tech-savvy products and apps.
With hundreds of LA tech scensters in attendance, the event was held at NextSpace LA a spacious Culver City co-working community.
In between sips of wine and noshing on a seemingly endless fruit and cheese tray, I was had the pleasure of chatting with several of the entrepreneurs demoing their products.
Read on to hear about my favorites including Airchat- a new approach to the company directory, Sound Off Experience- a silent disco remix (pictured left), and Nimble-an online platform that could simplify your life by streamlining your contacts.
Meet the five startups who showed us their stuff at Demo and Drinks
An integrated event platform that makes networking easy. Along with an event check-in platform, SocialTagg also acts as a business card replacement app that allows for easy contact export, and the ability to write notes on each contact.
Airchat is an app that will replace your company phone book. Everyone's mobile number in one app. Your directory stays updated automatically when new people join, so you’re never without a contact.
Sound Off Experience
Sound Off Experience brings an interactive silent disco to your next event. Unfamiliar with the "silent disco concept"?
It's where people listen to/dance to music that you can only hear via wireless headphones as opposed to using a traditional speaker system.
Check out a video example below:
Nimble takes contact management to the next level by integrating all of your social streams into one feed. If you work in sales, real estate, or even journalism Nimble can be a lifesaver! It automatically pulls your contacts into one place so you can engage with them across any channel including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Skype, and Email.
Shout out to Stephanie Grace, LA's Tech In Motion event coordinator for inviting me! Want to attend a future event? Click here to check out the group on Meetup.
