Having invested the time, money and effort to set up a booth at a trade show, you’ll obviously want to make sure that you’re milking the opportunity for all it has. Performing all the correct research, and planning your business’s appearance carefully, are essential to make sure you have a successful showing at any upcoming expo. Here are some of our best tips for making the most of your first trade show…
Location, Location, Location.
The best locations for trade shows sell out quickly, and some of these are going to be grandfathered. You may find that you need to plan even further in advance, like next year, for instance. If you’re planning on attending a show year after year, then you should definitely make a good location a priority when you’re negotiating your contract. As simple as it sounds, getting the location right can have a massive impact on how much you get out of any trade show.
Aside from having a location that’s conducive to your aims, you also need to make a point of having a booth that’s nice and approachable. Welcoming smiles, and attendants who have a great record for customer service, are both very important if you want to get the most leads possible out of the show. After getting your best people on the job, you should be supporting them with a range of display options, used to attract different people. Some prospects will like pamphlets, fliers, and other reading materials, whereas others will be more attracted to a video or interactive demo. As an extra frill, you may want to lay out some free branded gifts, like the ones from Dynamic Gift. We all love getting stuff for free, and this is one sure-fire way of hooking people in so you can open a dialogue. Remember, a lot of the people who approach your booth will want to ask questions, so make sure there are enough staff to ensure the booth is never unattended.
