Eastern medicine still relies on essential oils for healing and for daily use. Incorporating some lavender oil and mint oils into your daily routine will greatly help you reduce stress. Lavender will offer a soothing relaxing sensation in your body and mind, while Mint will help with muscle pain and clearing your breathing.
The first thing you may notice when walking into a spa is the smell of infused oils. They do this to calm you and relax you so you can have a more enjoyable experience.
"Our sense of smell is tied into our emotional responses," said Dr. Gwen McConnell with Providence St Joseph Health.
"For example, when I personally smell nutmeg, I remember my grandmother bringing me her special warm milk at bedtime. This memory triggers a sense of calm and relaxation. Some people find aromatherapy soothing, and helpful to calm down our busy lives."
