The story of an Ohio couple who were married for 70 years and died 15 hours apart has taken the web by storm and has been deemed by some as the ultimate love story.
Helen Felumlee, 92, died on April 12. Her husband, 91-year-old Kenneth Felumlee, died the very next morning.
According to reports, the couple held hands at breakfast every morning even after seven decades of marriage. Could Mr. Felumlee have died of a broken heart? It's possible.
The couples daughter said about 12 hours after Helen died, Kenneth looked at his children and said, "Mom's dead." He quickly began to fade and was surrounded by family and friends when he died the next morning, ABC news reports.
Earlier this year on my Blogtalkradio show we talked about takotsubo cardiomyopathy which is also known as broken heart syndrome. Experts say broken heart syndrome may be caused by the heart's reaction to a surge of stress hormones.
