Must Have Tech to Travel With

We are relatively well informed when it comes to tech in the home and for business. But how about in a completely unfamiliar environment? When it comes to traveling, you might think that you should leave all things technical at home. Afterall, who needs a laptop when they’re trekking rice paddies in Southeast Asia? Do you want to take your expensive cellular device into the sea with you on a snorkeling trip? Well, obviously not. But this general acceptance of leaving everything electronic at home is the result of a misconception regarding the use of technology on your travels. Here are some innovative products that can give your journeys an extra special touch.

Cameras

This seems obvious. You want to capture all of the best moments on your adventures, so a camera is a logical item to take with you. But people don’t often put much thought into the type of camera that they take along. Consider what kind of activities you will be taking part in and then you will able to work out the best device to get the most out of your trip. If you’re going to be engaging in extreme sports or water sports, you should probably check out the Go-Pro.

The Go-Pro is one of the world’s most versatile cameras. Most models are water-resistant and capable of withstanding heavy impacts from drops and bumps. You will be able to capture truly astounding footage of your activities. Stay tuned to my YouTube channel to check out all the cool footage I shot in Dublin with my Go-Pro powered by Verizon!

Now, if you are taking a city break and want to get more creative with your style, you might want to try out Polaroid cameras or Lomography for unique film images.

Drones

You will need to check rules and regulations on the use of drones in your travel destination. As long as you play by the rules, drones can give you footage of your journey like no other device. A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle which is operated by you on the ground, through the use of a form of remote control. Cameras can be attached to film from the drone, resulting in astounding birds eye footage. You will be able to see your destination from an entirely new point of view, taking stunning landscape shots. The downside with drones is that they can easily become expensive to purchase. But not to worry. Companies offer drones for hire. So if you don’t want to fork out thousands for a piece of equipment that you will only be using for a few weeks or months at most, consider lending one for a more affordable price.

A traveler’s nightmare is losing their luggage. Nothing ruins a trip like your suitcase going missing between your departure and arrival at your destination or in your accommodation. But there’s a resolution to this problem. There is a new range of smart suitcases with inbuilt GPS on the market. This allows you to track its location from your phone, so you will know exactly where your belongings are at all times. No more worries about losing your precious things!
