It’s a good time to be a tech geek guys. There are so many wonderful new things that have come out, or will be released at some point soon. There has never been a better time to get interested in technology and work out how it can benefit our lives. I love looking into new technology that will be on the market soon, as well as enjoying older forms of it too.
That's why I’m here to talk to you about the wicked bits of tech I’m getting excited about. Some of these are new, others haven't even come to the market yet, and some are old-reliable. So, without further ado, here is some of the technology I’ve been getting excited about recently.
The future looks bright for technology, in the form of virtual reality. This has been around for a long time, but it’s mainly been at a very rudimentary level. Since the release of the Oculus Rift, we have seen VR moving up a notch. Statistics may tell us that sales have declined, but that doesn't mean they won't pick up again.
And, I for one am really excited about what the future holds for virtual reality. If you consider yourself a tech enthusiast, I would strongly recommend checking out the Oculus Rift if you can. With the power of Facebook behind it, it’s likely there will be further incarnations of The Rift. In fact, there could well come a time when we all wear these headsets to watch movies and surf the web.
What, you think just because I’m a woman it means I don't like video games?! Well, actually, I love the Xbox. And I especially like Xbox Kinect. This is a piece of technology that comes with the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One consoles. It contains motion sensing devices allowing users to control the Xbox and give it commands via gestures and voice activation. This is a really cool idea, and I really hope more games companies try to incorporate something similar. It gives a deeper and more involved experience if you’re gaming, or just watching a movie.
Okay, so apps aren't exactly new technology, but they have become even more important over the years. And their influence and importance is the reason for them making my list. I can happily admit that I am unable to go a day without using an app for something. They play such a huge role in all of our lives, and we’re seeing more and more get released each year. There are apps that can solve parking nightmares, apps that communicate with devices, and apps that allow us to play games and watch Netflix. Apps play such a huge role in my life that I am a huge advocate of them. And the same is likely to apply in your life as well, so make the most of it.
Another concept I’m really psyched about is how much 3D printing has developed in the past few years. There are so many awesome things they are able to create now using 3D printers. I find the whole concept fascinating, and I’m always looking to find out more about 3D printing. If you are as curious as I am then you should go online and find out a bit more information. People like to read more about 3D printing on Zortrax blog and others like it. One day I’d love to actually get a 3D printer and make use of it at home. But for now they are a little out of my price range I’m afraid.
No, you’ve not read that wrong! Solar tents are actually a very new concept that hasn't reached the market yet. But, it looks as though we may be able to enjoy them at some point soon. You need to check out the Cinch, a solar-powered pop-up tent designed by Jake Jackson. Not only is it crazy easy to put up, but it’s also solar powered and has a rechargeable battery that allows you to charge your devices. This could be the answer to campers and festival goers’ prayers! I think this would totally transform the idea of camping for me!
You all know what a gadget head I can be at times, and that's why I thought I’d share this list with you. This is all the new tech I’ve been getting excited about, and I can't wait to find out more. Some of is less new, but no less important, and it will continue to have a big impact on our lives.
