You may at first think that taking out group health insurance for your employees is more hassle than its worth. But these days, it is something that more and more firms are doing, due to the benefits it has both to the business itself and to employees. Taking out business health insurance can sometimes mean that you gain tax advantages such as tax credits (if you have 25 employees or less working for you). You also become a much more attractive business for new employees, and you will probably be able to find some competitive group medical insurance rates. Remember, jobseekers have a much wider market to pick from these days, so offering a company benefit like health insurance can help you to attract the best caliber of employee.
Encouraging them to take time off
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy – and this old saying is certainly true for your employees, too. There are plenty of situations where overtime may be relevant, and you are grateful to certain members of staff for staying behind after hours to go the extra mile. But this is not a substantial way for your team to operate 24/7. If you have staff members who regularly eat lunch at their desks or stay after hours, encourage them to take some time for themselves. A work/life balance is necessary even for the busiest of employees, so don’t drive your team into the ground.

Whether you run a creative office or a busy factory, you need to make sure that the workplace itself is safe and suitable for your employees. All it takes is one thing to be out of place, and you could find yourself with an employee injury on your hands and therefore, a tricky negligence case to worm your way out of. Perform regular risk assessments within the workspace and don’t delay on executing any repairs and upgrades – when it comes to employee health and safety, no stone should be left unturned.
