In modern business, it is so, so incredibly easy to take the vast array of tools at our fingertips for granted. There are swathes of books with all sorts of management knowledge. If you have issues, there's no limit to the amount of people you can seek advice from. If you need anything to run your business, it's just a few clicks and a credit card number from being yours.
No matter if you're just starting out or if you've been running your own business for a number of years - there's never a bad time to start opening up your mind about how you can improve your business. Thankfully, as already stated - there's no end to the tools you can use.
Take printing for example - printing quite literally changed the course of the human race when it was invented, and it's such an underrated development. You're going to rely on printing a lot - for physical media such as banners and leaflets. Even if your business does not have a physical presence, you should still be using 24 Hour Printing Services to ensure that the goods you send out include promotional items and contact information. Printing could very well be a cornerstone of your business, so do it right!
Customer service should never be neglected. HelpScout has a lot of reasons why - 78% of consumers have bailed out on a transaction or not made the intended purchase because of a poor service experience. Customer service? It's worth its weight in gold - literally. Do you want to know what's worse? Well, a typical business only hears from just 4% of its dissatisfied and upset customers - that's bad because the rest? They simply won't turn up again. The White House Office Of Consumer Affairs states that it is six to seven times more expensive to gain a new customer than to retain an old one. What do you do then? Well, take the time to address unhappy customers and do everything in your power to assist them and resolve their issues. Treat your customers with respect at all times, and you won't have an issue. Customer service? It's an undervalued tool.
While your employees might not like to be called a 'tool' face to face - they are the beating heart of your business. Like your customers, you should treat your employees with respect because even though it is likely, that you work hard - they are working hard for you. Listen to the concerns of your employees and make sure they are always performing at their best. If they are low? It is on you to lift them up. Keep your employees motivated and you'll endure periods of success as they are the very thing lifting up your business. They are working for them, so keep them happy while they are doing so.
There's so much we can use in business, and this is barely scraping the surface. Utilize all the tools at your advantage and see your business soar!
