If you have a spare room in your home, why not set up the perfect ‘man cave’, the perfect option for spot watching and game playing and it helps to remove the clutter from your main room.
In fact, carving out an area for all of the gadgets and techy things in one space is generally a great way to fung shui your casa.
Looking to set up a "Man Cave" or "Tech Hideway" in your home?
Here are a few things to consider.
Think About The Entertainment System
The entertainment system has to be the most important part of any man cave. A large, high-quality tv screen, the console systems of their choice and surround sound speakers make any gaming or movie watching experience the best it can be. If the television isn’t a newer smart tv, you may need to invest in a smart TV box or stick. The Firestick, Chromecast and Apple TV are just three examples, have a look at the pros and cons of each before making your decision. Companies like HS Tech Group can even set up customized home theaters and entertainment systems. Along with the electronic side of things, don’t forget comfy seating too. If they like to host movie and games nights for friends, a large sofa could be the way to go. If they mainly use the room on their own, a console gaming chair or armchair may be the best option.
Set Up The Desk
A PC or laptop on a desk is a great addition to a man cave. It allows the space to double up as a home office and also allows for the best PC gaming experience! Go with the largest desk that works in the space, and a high quality and comfortable chair. These things really are worth spending a little extra money on as they will last longer and be far nicer to use. Especially if your other half is going to be spending long nights working or doing movie/ gaming marathons!
Smart Home Integration
Smart home is the future. In a couple of years time, it will be so integral to our homes that we’ll forget what it was like not to have it. But right now there’s no denying that it feels very cool, techy and futuristic. Using your voice or phone, you can control sockets, light switches, heat, air conditioning, home security and much more around the home. Setting up a smart home speaker such as the Amazon Echo or Google Home and linking up to components around the home is a fantastic touch in any room, especially a man cave where you want it to feel quite technological.
Along with all of the technology, what other things could you have to really make the most of the room? A darts board, a chess table and a bar cart and snacks are all things that could come in useful. If they play a musical instrument, you could set it up on a stand or in its own corner, if they like to paint you could set up an easel. Make it personal to them. Think about the decor too, if you’re unsure keep it neutral and add some plants, prints and a couple of accessories to bring the space to life.
