startup stories, trends and digital lifestyle hacks
Every business comes with a multitude of tasks, not least the task of communication. The big issue with every small business is learning how to develop the best way to communicate. With so many people opting to work from a remote location, such as their home, it means that business has had to find a quick way to upgrade their methods of liaising with staff as if they were in the office. There are many tools that can benefit startups, and here are a few.
There are, of course, many people that use Twitter and Facebook during working hours but what about a social function that is for the benefit of the business? There are many good reasons to implement a social intranet in your workplace, such as it being a digital notice board which means that people are not reducing their productivity by getting up from their computer, and it is a handy place to store resources, such as e-learning. It also helps in other ways, like cutting down on paperwork and a central way to communicate the latest goings on in the company. This is fast becoming the norm for lots of businesses.
This stands for Voice-over Internet Protocol and is a useful tool in business communication when you are looking for a more comprehensive explanation but are too slow with your fingers to explain what you mean! VoIP business phone systems have many different functions, such as giving you the option to leave an answerphone message on the recipient’s email account, rather than on their phone. And it is a great multi-purpose tool for communication as it is connected to your internet, meaning there is a much more all-encompassing approach to how you communicate with your colleagues.
Internal Blogs Or Videos
As YouTube has proved time and time again, that the way we consume information demands that it be sharp and to the point, and preferably in vlog form. A multimedia approach to how you put across your training materials will take more effort, but it will be taken on board by people much more than a boring black and white piece of paper with facts and figures. As the millennial generation grew up on exciting content, it means that points have to be put across in a dynamic way. Using things like infographics or making the text more interesting by accompanying visuals with it are a couple of ways to make your information stand out, which is very important if you are trying to communicate facts and figures, which is never the most interesting of topics.
Undoubtedly this has made inter-office communication a much easier process than ever before. A quick question to your line manager? Just ping it across! The idea of collaboration has become much more improved over multiple business sites thanks to these tools, where group messaging as well as private messaging, has no doubt increased productivity and ideas generation for the benefit of all business sizes across the world.
